Joining aromas,
crafting meanings.
Three locations. One idea. Every detail, from the cup to the counter, is chosen to bring people together.
Coffee when we open, cocktails when we close. Same room, same counter, whatever hour you walk in.
Our head chef came from Odette, the year it was named the best restaurant in Asia. He brought the precision. He left the price tag.
Hengqin, Aranya, Shenzhen. Rooms that look nothing alike, held to one standard.
Where it started
hyphen. started in Hengqin. There was no masterplan behind it, just the first opportunity that made sense: a small coffee and bakery counter in Hengqin Port Plaza, Zhuhai. It came from one question. Why did the best coffee shops always feel like they were made for one type of person? Aranya came next. Then Shenzhen, the flagship, open around the clock with the full kitchen and bar we'd been working toward.
Coffee and cocktails. East and West. Morning and midnight. The hyphen in our name does the same job: it holds two things together that are better that way.
What we don't do
We don't water down technique to charge less. We don't reach for bottled syrup when the fruit is in season. We train a barista the way a five-star kitchen trains a line cook. Charging less was never the easy option. It meant holding the standard and taking the smaller margin.
The counter, the lighting, the seating, the pace. We decided every one of them. Every hyphen.room is built the same way: somewhere you can sit for five minutes or five hours and feel like both were the point. Coffee shops rush you out. Bars pull you in too late. We wanted a room that didn't care what time it was.
